The annual 127 Yard Sale, billed as the longest yard sale in the world, returns Aug. 4-7 with vendors set up across Anderson County.

In Anderson County, Eagle Lake and the American Legion are billed as two of the largest vendor locations. Another major vendor location is Smock Farm, located on U.S. 127, about 12 miles south of Lawrenceburg, according to the sale’s official website.

The sale, which has grown exponentially through the years, is 690 miles long and runs from Alabama to Michigan, according to the website.

Originally held the first weekend in August, the event has grown to the point where numerous vendors set up the weekend before, including dozens at Eagle Lake and at the Legion.

It also features a plethora of other civic groups and individuals selling everything imaginable, including a variety of food vendors.

Traffic is typically heavy on U.S. 127 Bypass in Lawrenceburg during the event, and those attending are forbidden from parking along the four-lane highway.
