The Taylorsville Main Street committee, along with former members of the Kentucky Gourd Society, are hosting the annual one-day Taylorsville Gourd, Art and Craft Festival on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the downtown area on Main Street by the courthouse.

Gourds, vegetables, and plants will be available for purchase, along with art and craft vendors throughout the downtown area. There will also be kids activities, and food vendors.

Various gourd art classes will be offered by Michelle Drake, Bonnie Drake, Diana Williams, and Jan Banta-Briseno.

Inside the Chamber of Commerce building, located at 19 East Main Street, Taylorsville, there will be hundreds of gourd artwork on display, with judging taking place early Saturday morning for each of the categories: Paint, Holidays, Pen and Ink, Carved, Cutout, Birdhouses, Weaved, Mixed-Media, Fairy, Gnome and Fantasy, Paint-Poured, “Down on the Farm” theme, and Freestyle Techniques.
