The Lady Bears soccer team were shutout at Anderson County, but they would have a shutout of their own at Thomas Nelson.

Vs. Anderson County

On Sept. 12, the Lady Bears were outclawed on the road against the Lady Bearcats with a final score of 4-0.

The Bearcats kept up the pressure at the net, making the Lady Bears defense, and Senior goalkeeper Teddi Parks, #1, work extra hard. Although Parks allowed four goals in the game, she had saves in the double digits, with a total of 11. The Lady Bears’ offense was also putting on pressure of their own, with seven attempts at the goal.

Vs. Thomas Nelson

On Sept. 14, the Lady Bears traveled once again, this time to Thomas Nelson, but this time, they had a much welcomed shutout on the road with the final score of 6-0.

Spencer out pressured Thomas Nelson, with Sophomore Natalie Wimsatt, #5, leading the team in goals with a total of three, and one assist. Sophomore Hawley Johnson, #99, had two goals of her own, and one assist. Senior Ella Kennedy, #8, had one goal, and Sophomore Ava Klaus, #6, had four assists on the night.

Klaus, Johnson, Parks, and Senior Ella Kennedy, #8, all had one assist each.

Parks was the goalkeeper for the game, and was able to conserve some energy, only needing to have one save.

Upcoming schedule

The Lady Bears played their last scheduled home game vs. North Bullitt on Monday, will play at Atherton on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., and vs. John Hardin on Saturday, at 9 a.m., as part of the Bruin Classic.

At press time, the Lady Bears were 6-5 on the season.
