Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will host its Community Showcase on Main once again. The Showcase is Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and has been held for more than a decade.
More than 70 different vendor booths will line both sides of Main Street from 4th to 7th streets.
A DJ will spin tunes throughout the event, and there will be a Kids Zone, fire truck display, DARE vehicle, magician, balloon art and grilling. Downtown restaurants and shops will be open during this annual event.
The Community Showcase has been taking place for more than 10 years and “has since grown and evolved to what we now know as, Showcase on Main,” said Darlene Snow, Shelby Main Street executive director.
Snow said this is a great way to showcase businesses in the city with a sprinkling of fun.
“This will be the second year that we've taken the event to Main Street and we love the way we can highlight our Chamber members through their booth space as well as the downtown businesses,” she said.
Bring community together
More than 70 vendor booths will line Main Street from 4th to 7th.
“The event is another way to pull the community together and support our local businesses. It gives our businesses an opportunity to share what they do, what they are passionate about and it all takes place in our wonderful downtown,” Snow said. “We invite the community to come out to this free event and learn about many of our local businesses and enjoy our fabulous downtown Shelbyville.”
Past two years
Last year, the Showcase was combined with the Dogwood Festival. In 2020, the Showcase was canceled due to COVID.
