In any community, it truly takes a village of folks to make it successful.

And, as a community, we probably don’t give a shout out often enough to those who contribute to that success.

Recently, The Pioneer News had a story about JOM, a part of Johnson and Johnson.

From its inception into the community, it has been a major contributor to the success in Bullitt County.

One of its regular benefactors has been the Family Resource Center at Shepherdsville Elementary.

FRC coordinator Traci Gould has got so many programs going to help the kids.

The most recent event was the contribution of shoes to some lucky students.

Another recent standout in the community was Mike Rice, who owns Rice’s Lawncare.

He watched as the Bullitt East Athletic Booster Club was on a mission to raises funds to purchase rings for the football team after it won the state 6-A tournament.

Rice contributes to organizations on a regular basis. Having a son who attended the school gave him more of an interest.

Without knowing the amount still to be raised, Rice signed a check for $7,000 to cover the balance due. And he wasn’t looking for any public salute.

These are just a small sample of the great things people do in our community.
