SHEPHERDSVILLE – Many have asked about it?
The official dates for maybe the most popular service provided by Bullitt County government have been set.
The annual Bullitt County Clean Up Days will be held on two Saturdays in June.
Start getting your junk together as the free service for Bullitt County residents will be at various locations on June 10 and June 24, according to solid waste director Shannon Logan.
The dates over the years have changed but the popularity has never waned.
From 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on each date, residents may take items – on the allowable list – to one of five locations.
On June 10, the drop-off sites will be at Lebanon Junction Elementary, Nichols Elementary and the old Shepherdsville High School site, located on Joe B. Hall Avenue.
On June 24, disposal will be allowed at North Bullitt High School and at Mount Washington Middle School.
County road department workers will be on-site with heavy equipment to help load the items into dumpsters. Inmates with the Bullitt County Detention Center are also typically part of the crew.
And residents bringing in the junk might also lend a little assistance if they are able.
There will be a list of items which cannot be disposed at the clean up days. Those include:
*Yard waste, tree limbs, logs, etc.
*Garbage
*Tires
*Items containing Freon
*Hazardous materials or paint
This is a free event which will be held rain or shine. Be prepared to show a driver’s license to prove residency.
The event is held annually thanks to the support of Bullitt County Fiscal Court.
