Hebron Presbyterian yard sales

    The ladies of Hebron Presbyterian Church will host a pair of yard sale weekends, Friday and Saturday on March 17-18 and March 24-25.

    Doors open at 8 a.m. and close around 2 p.m. each day.

    Everyone is welcome. The yard sale will be held in the activities building. The church is located on the corner of Hebron Lane and Old Preston Highway.

Missions Team fish fry

    The Gospel Lights Missions Team will host a fish fry and cake auction on March 25 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

    The event will be held at Riverview Baptist Church, located on Old Louisville Road south of Mount Washington.

Softball tournament for scholarships

    The 2nd Annual Felts Family Foundation Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 15, and Sunday, April 16, at the Lebanon Junction Sports Complex.

    CO-ED TEAMS Only, and you must play 3 girls at all times. Registration is $200/ team. All fees are due by April 1.

    This is a double elimination Tournament. All teams will be required to submit their roster and sign off on the rules prior to taking the field.

    The proceeds will benefit the Stovall Sports Scholarship in honor of Richie Stovall. This year's scholarship will be awarded to the youth of the Shepherdsville/Blue Lick Softball and Baseball programs.

    Concessions will be available for purchase.

Fish Fry season at St. Aloysius

    The Lenten fish fry season has returned to St. Aloysius.

    The fish fry will run each Friday through March 31.

    In-person, carryout or drive thru from 5-7:30 p.m.

    Enjoy delicious fish, oysters, fries, onion rings, slaw, mac and cheese and homemade desserts.

Cedar Grove Community Church

    Cedar Grove United Methodist Church has now become Cedar Grove Community Church, a Global Methodist Church.

    Anyone looking for a loving, Biblical church home, services are each Sunday at 10 a.m.

Extension class on smoked meats

    The Bullitt County Cooperative Extension Service will host three evenings of talks about the cooking of smoked meats.

    The class series will cover many aspects of smoking meats starting with your rubs and food safety.

    If you’ve always wanted to try smoking your own meat, here is your chance.

Fish fry at St. Benedict

    The St. Benedict Lenten fish fry will run Feb. 24 through March 31.

    Every Friday during Lent you can pick up lunch or dinner from 11 a.m. until 8 p.. The church is located at 103 N. Brook Street in Lebanon Junction.

    Fish platters will be $13 want shrimp or oyster platters will be $15. Each platter includes onion rings, French fries, mac and cheese, slaw, hush puppies and drink. You can also order ala carte.

Blood drive at church

    The Church of Latter Day Saints on 4614 Highway 44 East will host a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 17, from 1-6 p.m.

Style Show set for March 18

    The Bullitt County Woman’s Club will host its annual Style Show and Luncheon on  Saturday, March 18, at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre.

    The styles will be from Troutmans, Country Vogue, Hometown Mama and Grace on Main.

    Tickets are $35 each with all proceeds going to fund scholarships.

    The Bullitt County Foundation for Educational Excellence will host an Infield Party at Millovona Winery on Saturday, April 15.

    The annual event is a major fund-raiser for the foundation, which provides grant money for Bullitt County Public School teachers.

    Dinner will be catered by Kingsley. there will be a silent and live auction. DJ and dancing after dinner.

Hillview hosts fish fry events

    The city of Hillview will again host Friday night fish fry events Feb. 24 through March 31.

    Fish will be sold with all the fixings from 4-7 p.m. each Friday at the Hillview Government Center on Crestwood Lane.

    All are invited. Proceeds will go to the Operation Santa program.

Families Anonymous group

    A Families Anonymous group has been formed at Shepherdsville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

    The group meets every other week.The next meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 16.

    This is a 12-step recovery program for those whose lives have been affected by a relative or friend who is suffering from altering substance abuse.

First Baptist Monday meals

    The First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville has resumed its Monday meals.

    The community is invited for a free meal each Monday at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:50 p.m.

Bullitt Ministerial group to meet

    The Bullitt County Ministerial Association will meet on the first Wednesday of each month at Mr. Gattis.

Hillview Church Dare to Care

    The Hillview Community Christian Church food pantry and Dare to Care program will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.

    It will be open from 5-6 p.m.

    The drive-thru food pantry will be located at the City of Hillview Annex Building at 1191 Hillview Boulevard.

    Only those in Hillview, Pioneer Village and Brooks are eligible for this site.

First Nazarene Dare to Care

    Shepherdsville First Church of the Nazarene is hosting a Dare to Care food distribution every Tuesday.

    The drive-thru food bank will be at the old Melton Food Mart every Tuesday from 5-6 p.m.

    Bring something with your address and a photo ID to receive assistance.

    This is for the 40165 and 40177 zip codes only. Bring boxes, bags or other containers to carry your food.

    The drive-thru pickup is located on North Maple Street off Highway 44 East in Shepherdsville.

Ray of Hope Dare to Care

    Ray of Hope Christian Fellowship’s food pantry is partnering with Dare to Care to serve those in need of food assistance with 40165, 40177, 40109 and 40229 zip codes.

    The food pantry is located at 384 Raymond Road in Shepherdsville and will be open from 9-11 a.m. each Saturday.

    Each client may receive a food box once each month.

    Bring a photo ID and a recent piece of mail to be served.

Turnaround Center activities

    The Turnaround Pantry will be open at the main location on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

    Food boxes are available at 12:30 p.m.

    The center is located at 11980 S. Preston Highway in Lebanon Junction.

    Every Monday, Thursday and Friday at Noon, there is a hot meal provided at the Turnaround Center 2 Kitchen at 191 S. Poplar Street in Lebanon Junction.

    Produce is also available.

    And the Turnaround Market, located at 11491 S. Preston Highway in Lebanon Junction, is open by appointment only.

HANDS program helps expectant parents

    Having a baby or have a new baby?

    Check out the HANDS program. It is free and voluntary.

    A highly-skilled HANDS worker will provide fun, interactive activities to teach you and your baby to be the best you can be.

    The Bullitt County Health Department, in a partnership with Dare to Care, will offer a Cooking Matters program.

    The series will run for six weeks beginning on Feb. 22.

MW Lions Club fish fry March 10

    The Mount Washington Lions Club will host a fish fry on the second Friday of each month.

The next one will be on Friday, March 10.

    The fish will start frying at 4 p.m. and goes until everything is sold, which is normally 5:30-6 p.m.

    Everyone is invited. The fish fry will be at 810 N. Bardstown Road in Mount Washington.

    Proceeds help to benefit projects in the community.

Nuts and Bolts of a healthy life

    The Bullitt County Health Department is offering a number of classes.

    Nuts and Bolts of Diabetes will be offered on March 21 and May 16 from 5-6:30 p.m.

    And the Nuts and Bolts of Nutrition will be offered on Feb. 21, April 18 and June 20, also from 5-6:30 p.m.

Bluegrass music in Hillview

    The Hillview Government Center is again hosting Bluegrass Music and fish fry each Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

    The public is invited to the free singing and the chance to purchase fish dinners.

Masonic Lodge breakfast March 4

    Bullitt Masonic Lodge 155 all-you-can-eat breakfast will be  held on Saturday, March 4.

    From 7-10 a.m., the public is invited to breakfast. The buffet cost is $9 a person.

    The breakfast will be held the first Saturday of each month.The next will be on Saturday, March 4.

    The lodge is located on High School Drive next to Bullitt Central High School. Everyone is invited to attend. Dine-in or carryout available.

Older adult activities in MW

    Older adults looking to build new connections and to try new things should check out the Active 55+ program.

    It will be held starting at the Mount Washington Branch Library at 10 a.m.

    Each Thursday morning there will be active routine and meaningful social interaction. Games, cards, Wii bowling, fun crafts and guest speakers.

    The Bullitt County GOP will meet on Thursday, March 2, at 7 p.m. at the Shepherdsville Government Center.

    The Republican Party meets on the first Thursday of each month in January.

Hillview CERT seeks volunteers

    Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community?

    Join the Hillview Community Emergency Response Team.

    Training is provided. You must be at least 18 to join the team. However, those 15-17 can join the junior program.

    Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the community center at 298 Prairie Drive.

    McNeil Lodge 586  hosts its all-you-can-eat breakfast on the second Saturday of each month.
