Flood relief toy drive
The Bullitt County Emergency Management Agency is coordinating a toy drive for the Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief efforts.
New toys may be dropped off now through Dec. 2 at the following locations:
*All branches of the Bullitt County Public Library system
*Bullitt County EMA on Saltwell Drive
*Bullitt County Fiscal Court, courthouse
*Zoneton Firehouse, North Preston Highway
North Bullitt Breakfast with Santa
North Bullitt High Boosters will host the second annual Breakfast with Santa and Craft Show on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8:30 a.m. until Noon.

Pancakes with Santa
The City of Hillview’s Community Emergency Response Team will host a Pancakes with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Adult meals will be $5 with kids paying only $3. A photo with Santa is included.
The event will be held at Russ Hall next to the community center on Prairie Drive. Everyone is invited.
Freedom from Smoking class
The Bullitt County Health Department will host a Freedom from Smoking class starting on Jan. 17.
The seven-week program is free and you will help you quit the use of tobacco products.
The class will meet each week at 5 p.m. at the health department annex in Shepherdsville.

Vine Hill Baptist Church Revival
After months of praying and planning, everyone is invited to Vine Hill Baptist Church Revival at 2078 Clermont Road, across from Bernheim Forest.
Revival service starts Sunday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. with free Thanksgiving Dinner to follow, Sunday night service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, thru Wednesday, November 30, at 6:30 p.m.
Guest Evangelist will be Kenny Rager from the KBC.
Child Care will be provided.

Christmas homes tour
The annual Christmas Tour of Homes in Bardstown will occur on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 2-8 p.m.
The tour will feature three historic homes, two modern homes, Wickland, an Airbnb, the First Presbyterian Church and the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History.
A second mostly walking tour will also be offered.
The Stephen Foster Music Club sponsors the event with proceeds going to send music students to summer camp at EKU.

Families Anonymous group
A Families Anonymous group has been formed at Shepherdsville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
The group meets every other week.The next meeting will be on Thursday, Nov. 24.
This is a 12-step recovery program for those whose lives have been affected by a relative or friend who is suffering from altering substance abuse.

Live nativity to return
The annual Walk to Bethlehem will be hosted by the Hillview Community Christian Church from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 2-4.
This free event includes a live nativity as well as scenes from Bethlehem.
The entire community is invited to witness this program provided by the volunteers from the church.
The church is located on the corner of Brookley Drive and Hillview Boulevard.
Tree rebate program in place
Thinking of planting a tree?
For trees purchased and planted from Oct. 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023, the Soil Conservation office will provide a rebate of half the purchase price of the tree up to a $50 maximum.
There is a limit of two rebate requests per address/household and trees purchased must come from the approved tree list.

Christmas bazaar at Hebron
The Women of Hebron Presbyterian Church will host the annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There will be a big bake sale and Betty’s Cafe will be open.

GriefShare at Bullitt Lick Baptist
Bullitt Lick Baptist Church will host GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays on Thursday, Nov. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 1, from 6:30-8 p.m.
Surviving the Holidays is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death.
Attendees will receive practical tips, encouraging words, journaling ideas and exercises for daily help through the holiday season.

Hillview plans events
The city of Hillview has a number of events planned through the end of the year.
On Tuesday, Nov. 22, the annual community Thanksgiving meal will be served starting at 11 a.m.
The community is invited to come by the government center for a free Thanksgiving meal.
Volunteers and donations are accepted.
The VFW Post 5710 will host bingo each Tuesday and Sunday evenings.
The first game begins at 7 p.m. each night.
The post is located on Highway 44 West in Shepherdsville. All are invited.
First Baptist Monday meals
The First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville has resumed its Monday meals.
The community is invited for a free meal each Monday at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:50 p.m.
You can enter at the back or side doors.
The church is located on South Buckman Street next to the county courthouse.
Bullitt Ministerial group to meet
The Bullitt County Ministerial Association will meet on the first Wednesday of each month at Mr. Gattis.
The meeting begins at 1 p.m. All pastors and representatives of Bullitt County ministries are invited.

Hillview Church Dare to Care
The Hillview Community Christian Church food pantry and Dare to Care program will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.
It will be open from 5-6 p.m.
The drive-thru food pantry will be located at the City of Hillview Annex Building at 1191 Hillview Boulevard.
Only those in Hillview, Pioneer Village and Brooks are eligible for this site.
First Nazarene Dare to Care
Shepherdsville First Church of the Nazarene is hosting a Dare to Care food distribution every Tuesday.
The drive-thru food bank will be at the old Melton Food Mart every Tuesday from 5-6 p.m.
Bring something with your address and a photo ID to receive assistance.
This is for the 40165 and 40177 zip codes only. Bring boxes, bags or other containers to carry your food.
The drive-thru pickup is located on North Maple Street off Highway 44 East in Shepherdsville.
Ray of Hope Dare to Care
Ray of Hope Christian Fellowship’s food pantry is partnering with Dare to Care to serve those in need of food assistance with 40165, 40177, 40109 and 40229 zip codes.
The food pantry is located at 384 Raymond Road in Shepherdsville and will be open from 9-11 a.m. each Saturday.
Each client may receive a food box once each month.
Bring a photo ID and a recent piece of mail to be served.
Turnaround Center activities
The Turnaround Pantry will be open at the main location on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
Food boxes are available at 12:30 p.m.
The center is located at 11980 S. Preston Highway in Lebanon Junction.
Every Monday, Thursday and Friday at Noon, there is a hot meal provided at the Turnaround Center 2 Kitchen at 191 S. Poplar Street in Lebanon Junction.
Produce is also available.
And the Turnaround Market, located at 11491 S. Preston Highway in Lebanon Junction, is open by appointment only.

On Thursday, Nov. 24, the annual Thanksgiving meal will be served from 1-5 p.m.
Everyone is welcome. The Fishing Hole will sponsor the feast.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, Breakfast with Santa and Shop will Santa will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The all-you-can eat breakfast/brunch will be $10 with kids 10 and under $5. It will be held at the Kitchen location.
Menu will include pancakes, sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs.
And from Nov. 1-25, letters to Santa will be accepted. This is for children ages 0-12 and three items may be requested per child.

Diabetes Nutrition Class
The Bullitt County Health Department is offering a new class open to the community.
Diabetes, Nutrition and More will be held on the first Tuesday of each month from 5-6 p.m.
Classes will be held at the Bullitt County Health Department annex building conference room.
The next class will be on Dec. 6.

MW Lions Club fish fry Dec. 2
The Mount Washington Lions Club will host a fish fry on the second Friday of each month. But, since the Lions Club will be selling fish at the Light Up Mount Washington, the next one will be on Friday, Dec. 2.
The fish will start frying at 4 p.m. and goes until everything is sold, which is normally 5:30-6 p.m.
Everyone is invited. The fish fry will be at 810 N. Bardstown Road in Mount Washington.
Proceeds help to benefit projects in the community.
Bluegrass music in Hillview
The Hillview Government Center is again hosting Bluegrass Music and fish fry each Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The public is invited to the free singing and the chance to purchase fish dinners.
The government center is located on Crestwood Lane in Hillview.
Masonic Lodge breakfast Dec. 3
Bullitt Masonic Lodge 155 all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3.
From 7-10 a.m., the public is invited to breakfast. The buffet cost is $9 a person.
The breakfast will be held the first Saturday of each month.The next will be on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Older adult activities in MW
Older adults looking to build new connections and to try new things should check out the Active 55+ program.
It will be held starting at the Mount Washington Branch Library at 10 a.m.
Each Thursday morning there will be active routine and meaningful social interaction. Games, cards, Wii bowling, fun crafts and guest speakers.

The Bullitt County GOP will meet on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Active Heroes camp off Cedar Grove Road.

Join the Hillview Emergency Response Team.
Training is provided. You must be at least 18 to join the team. However, those 15-17 can join the junior program.
Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the community center at 298 Prairie Drive.

The North Bullitt Lions Club will meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

McNeil Lodge hosts breakfast
McNeil Lodge 586 hosts its all-you-can-eat breakfast on the second Saturday of each month.
